News to be aware of happening around Greenside:
Greenside Residents Association News
Greenside Residents Association have been dealing with great dissatisfaction surrounding the local Business Node on Glen Eagles road and Greenway. There are a number of extremely intense processes under way in order for them to effectively resolve the complex issues that appear to have overwhelmed our suburb of late.
These include dealing with the SAPS National Liquor Unit, meeting with representatives of the City's Legal Services section and of course liaising with the Public Protector in order to try and address the problem of non-existent municipal law enforcement in the area. On the upside, they are currently sourcing quotes for the development of our precinct plan - which will dictate the future development policy of the suburb, in line with the City's RSDF.
This process will be overseen by the Urban Management Sub Committee. There is also planning under way in order to put together a rejuvenation strategy specifically for the business node. They will be running a clean-up project for which they need some volunteers.
There are also volunteer positions available on the management team, so please have a look at the categories below to see where you would like to help out and be involved!
Business Node Clean-up
They need volunteers who would like to help with an initial clean-up of the business node. It would be fantastic if anybody perhaps has a bakkie to offer so that we can cart away illegal signs and rubbish piles. They will also be removing stickers and graffiti from road signs and will be working to try and clear the dirt off some of the pavements around the Node.
The operation will be in collaboration with community stakeholders, such as the Greenside Design Centre and other members of the local business community. They urge all residents to get involved and to participate in salvaging Greenside!
Should you be free to partake in this process, then contact Victor Voorendyk on 073-287-1287 or e-mail: compliance@lovegreenside.org.

Please keep a look out for more updates from the GRA. A lot is happening in Greenside at the moment.
